Blended teaching during COVID-19 outbreak: Taking the teaching of Chinese Materia Medica as an example*

Abstract: The COVID-19 epidemic is both a crisis and an opportunity. It has changed the normal teaching yet put forward new propositions in teaching. This paper analyzed online blended teaching during epidemic outbreak. The authors discussed the two forms of blended online teaching: face-to-face online teaching and autonomous learning. They also pointed out that these two ways of teaching should be coordinated to offline teaching once the normal teaching is resumed. Taking the course of Chinese Materia Medica as an example, the authors discussed the construction of blended online teaching from the following six aspects: student analysis, teaching form, learning methods, teaching methods, teaching strategies and assessment The authors proposed an implementation plan based on the BOPPPS model. It is hoped to promote reflection on. teaching and enhance further improvement of online and offline blended teaching after the epidemic.
