Promoting effects of integrating ideological and political elements into the teaching of TCM*

Abstract: Ideological and political education, which guides students to establish correct world outlook, view of life and values, is an important part of teaching content as well as an important way for university students to develop a correct understanding of themselves and the society. However, with the progress of society and the development of science and technology, there are more channels for students to acquire knowledge and the content is getting richer. Therefore, the single teaching mode can no longer meet the ideological and political education needs, and it is time to reform the methods of ideological and political teaching. The integration of ideological and political elements into TCM courses can not only guide students in their lives but also stimulate students' motivation and enthusiasm in their studies. From the perspective of students, this paper puts forward some thoughts and discussions on the purpose, mode, significance and influence of integrating ideological and political elements into TCM teaching. It also discusses ways to enrich the teaching content.
