Exploration and practice of integrating ideological and political elements into the teaching of Pharmaceutical Botany*

Abstract: Pharmaceutical Botany, one of the core courses of TCM Pharmacy, plays a very significant role for the subsequent study and research of TCM students. Guided by Number 6 Document issued by the Ministry of Education (MOE) on integrating ideological and political elements into the entire cultivation, Pharmaceutical Botany integrated worldviews and methodologies of dialectical materialism; and then identified the connections between Pharmaceutical Botany and the values and methodologies of dialectical materialism. The teaching aims at constructing a course embodying knowledge, competence, and value to cultivate TCM talents with both political integrity and talent in line with the needs of the society.
