Abstract: In order to achieve the dual goal of “imparting knowledge” and “educating people”, as well as exploring the educational functions of basic courses in more depth, this paper explores the teaching mode of integrating ideological and political elements into basic courses from the following aspects: identifying ideological and political elements from the basic courses, re-designing teaching by integrating ideological and political elements, reinforcing the political awareness and improving teaching ability of teachers, and evaluating from the perspective of students and teachers respectively. The results show that Inorganic Chemistry integrated with ideological and political elements not only promotes students’understanding of the course, cultivates students’morality, enhances their professional confidence, but also plays a certain role in guiding students to establish a positive attitude towards life. At the same time, this integration has also improved teachers’ comprehensive quality and the ability of ideological and political education.

Key words: integrating ideological and political elements into teaching, Inorganic Chemistry, course evaluation
