Cross-culture adaptation survey on TCM international students: A case study of Gansu University of Chinese Medicine*

Abstract: This paper aims at investigating the current status of TCM international students in terms of cross-culture adaptation via online questionnaire and interview. The findings showed that psychological adaptation of TCM international students was satisfactory, yet their social adaptation should be improved, and their understanding of TCM was insufficient before they came to China. The paper also analyzed the existing problems of cross-culture adaptation in terms of psychological adaptation, social culture adaptation, individual differences, understanding of TCM, and personalized guidance of cross-culture adaptation for TCM international students. Finally, the paper put forward some solutions to the problems from the five aspects accordingly.
