Research into TCM postgraduates’ cognition and satisfaction with the national scholarship policies: A case study of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine*

Abstract: Objective To investigate the degree of recognition and satisfaction of postgraduates in TCM colleges and universities about the national scholarship policy, and to provide evidence for further improvements of implementation of postgraduate national scholarship policy. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 408 postgraduates of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and descriptive statistics were analyzed to present the basic information of the respondents and the general information such as the cognition and attitudes of different grades towards the national scholarship policies for postgraduates. /b>Results For different grades, training levels, enrollments and participation levels of the national scholarship, differences in the distribution of understanding the national scholarship policies were of statistical significance (P<0.05). For postgraduates and doctoral students, differences in the distribution of the willingness to obtain national scholarships were also of statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion The implementation of the national scholarship for postgraduates obtained desirable results, but further improvements should be made in evaluation criteria, specific allocation, and scholarship publicity.
