Abstract: For improving the teaching quality of TCM courses, a questionnaire was designed with reference to National Survey of Student Engagement in China (NSSE-China), which was used in undergraduates of specialty of Chinese and Western clinical medicine in Dalian Medical University for exploring suitable and effective teaching strategy. The results showed that the students are short of interests in TCM courses, students’ interaction and participation were lower, and demands for teaching methods were more. It suggests that multiple modes, including object teaching, role playing and intelligent teaching, should be applied in teaching reform for improving students’ learning enthusiasm, initiative and cooperative.
